We rode this route today to get a feel for the road surface, which last year (2011) was less than stellar.
Well, nothing's changed.
It's below average much of the way, truly horrible a good bit of the way and god damned beautiful for the last 3 or so miles out of Terra Alta.
If you want a nice solid ride with some stupid good twisties from CR 3, you want to take your ass to Terra Alta, WV on Route 7, turn up to CR 3 and run for about 5 miles north.
Then turn around and go back down and call it a day.
Don't even bother taking it out of Brandonville, WV on Route 26.
This road will be amazing...if they even pave the son of a bitch.
Video 1, video 2.

I rode this 'road', 5-6 feet wide at some points, after a snowfall in November.
DANGEROUS!!! It should be closed.
I had a AWD and it took me 1.5 hr to drive 10 miles.
Do not drive during winter time.
It is 1 car at the time and in horrible shape.

I rode WV CR-3 last Sunday.
The road is in terrible shape for most of the route.
There are dozens of pot holes and the patch jobs are as bad as the potholes.
Many of the corners have broken pavement.
My speed was down to 15-20 mph in many places.
If the state ever properly paves this road again, it could be fun, but for now it's dangerous.

Starts out tame, for about 4 miles, then comes the fun!
Sweepers, twisties, and a few "gravity cavities" thrown in just for good measure!
This is a bikers dream.
Not much traffic, just watch, some of the corners have gravel.
North to south is the best route, but either way you can't go wrong
