Slow 1 1/2 lane paved road in OK to poor condition.
Plenty of pot holes, loose gravel, and nice scenery.
Watch out for oncoming traffic.
Do stop at the train station in Durbin and check out the steam locomotive.

One word could not do justice to this country road, but let me try...'WOW'.
I have rode across the country, including the mountains of NC, NM, and AZ, but this road by far gives it all.
Its not for the timid, not for the novice, but it provides some of the most memory lasting views in the land.
I rode solo and single bike.
If you are riding with one other bike in your group, it is one to many. Don't ruin this road with a group ride.
From Edray to Cass it takes you through farm communities and back woods.
Stop at Cass and ingest the railroad sites and go on from there.
I will ride this road again and again, but I really hope nobody believes me, I would really like to have this Jewel all to myself.
Don't plan to make a speed run of this, because it's 'Almost Heaven!'

I have ridden this road many times and it's always fun.
It is FAR from one of the most twisty roads in WV.
If you ride a road sofa you may find it challenging.
It's a typical WV 'back road'.

Back Mountain road is one of my all time favorites!
I run it everytime I'm in the area.
Roads like Back Mountain are where you see the real West Virginia.

Piece of cake. Good ridge and hilltop vistas. Easy riding and fun.

This is a dangerous road that should be avoided in my opinion.
It's roughly driveway width.
Each time we met on coming cars and moved to the edge of the pavement, the cars and trucks had to drop one side of their vehicle off the ashphalt and we were still to close!
Blind turns are the norm and many, many of the corners were extremely dirty, having loose gravel and rocks over most of the road surface.
Stay away. Far, far away!

O.K., be advised, logging trucks and a one lane road do not lend it self to fun riding, this road should be used only if you want some danger, and you really know how to use your bike.
We made it through on big GoldWings and I'LL never forget it!!!!!!!

This is a back, lane and half, road with limited sight distance, extremely twisty, and very dangerous.
Use only with caution and experience.
Probably the most twisty road in West Virginia.
