• "SR 55 is a well maintained road so you can get your moneys' worth as you take-in the beautiful scenery. SR 55 follows several mountain streams and valleys as it winds through the scenic West Virginia mountains. It connects to US 33, and US 220 in certain sections. Even the 4 lane super-slab section is a fun road to ride as it offers lots of gentle sweepers while showing-off the mountain vistas. Very lite traffic - you can pretty much expect to have this road to yourself (obviously a Robert Byrd pork barrel project). If you are heading east/west and want a fun and scenic - less crowded alternative to US 50, this is it. Its a gem!" - Brad Morgan, (5/28/07)
