US-25E from I-75 to the Cumberland Gap to Morristown, TN. and beyond is a good example of several favorable 4 lane roads in the Southeast US.
You emerge from the gap tunnel into Harrogate, TN, home to Lincoln Memorial University and generally cheaper gas than in KY.
The ride to Tazewell is pastoral, with too many trucking companies and abandoned businesses, but you're making good time.
At Tazewell you begin to ascend Clinch Mountain.
The ride is sweeping with views of the valleys and hills.
Skip any thought of eating in Tazewell and climb the mountain.
At the top is the most amazing pie as well as a full menu at the Clinch Mountain Overlook Restaurant.
Krystal is biker friendly and has even dried biker's wet gear in her home nearby.
The stop is a reward if only for pie, coffee and the great view of Cherokee Lake below.
From the overlook you descend for about 6 miles to Bean Station and on to Morristown which has a sizeable population and all amenities, but is only a brief slowdown if headed farther south due to the nature of 25E.
Sometimes we need to make time on rides and it's always a bonus when the ride is scenic and enjoyable.
25E meets those needs.

4-lane most of the way.
Beautiful sweeping turns through the Cumberland Gap Tunnel, over the Clinch Mountain Range, crossing Norris and Cherokee Lakes.
View from the Scenic Overlook on top of Clinch Mountain offers outstanding views of Cherokee Lake and the Smoky Mountains in the distance.
