I put this in because it is a nice road representative of roads in East Tennessee which go NE to SW, and to share the following concept.
In East Tennessee the ridges run from the NE to the SW so riding parallel to them means riding sweepers through valleys.
TN-33, TN-131, US-11 etc.
Nice riding with nice scenery.
If you want more switchbacks in East Tennessee you simply choose a NW to SE route, 66, 70 (whew) etc.
They cross the ridges and create a more technical ride.
No amenities between towns on this short route but gas and food are available in Tazewell and Sneedville.

I can not believe it.
I had no idea that this site was so powerful and influencial.
In less than a week after my last post about this road they began black topping it, at least in Union County.

The scenery is fine but the asphalt is horrible.
The stretch between Maynardville and Knoxville is some of the roughest and ugliest blacktop in the state of Tennessee.

An easy, scenic and nice road.
You will cross over Norris Lake, ride some easy curves, and end up with a smile on your face.
Take your time and enjoy the scenery.
