Road Conditions near Route 7 in Burrillville:
The road conditions heading north down the hill just before Route 7 are pretty bad.
Quite a few bumps/heaves/dips/cracks and expansion joint issues just before the bridge.
One nasty one caused my buddy to lose control and go into and over the guardrail this past Sunday (4/6/14).
First responders and others at the scene confirmed that it’s bad and they’ve had a number of incidents in that area.

The stretch from 95 to 44 should be avoided like the plague.
My buddy says "hell is paved with straight roads"...I thought it would be hotter.
Straight and boring for what seems like an eternity.
On the very few curves, the pavement turns to crap as if it's all part of some sick joke.

Good laid back road to ride, you can get anywhere in the state from it for its many intersections to other general feeder roads.
Spotted with little establishments here and there like soda stands and small diners on the south and around Route 3, and pretty decently curvy with good shade and nice sights as you get north of 95 into Foster.
Plenty of passing zones and a few great spots to pull off and relax, with gas stations on the north and south ends as well as at the intersection with Route 6.
My only complaint is the deteriorating state of the pavement (as of spring, 2008) between Route 6 and 95, which can make it a bit hairy if you're sporting it.
Its a summer staple for myself and my friends though, as we make a tradition of riding it end to end at least monthly.
Its not a day-long road trip, but its certainly great for wiping out an afternoon and clearing your head.

Great country ride, minimal traffic, home spun dining.
