This route is a combination of twisty turns, sweeping turns and is very scenic.
There are several good restaurants in Lake Lure, and Chimney Rock to stop at along the route.
Chimney Rock State Park is a nice site to stop at.
There is access to the Blue Ridge Parkway near Asheville, as well as several other roads that are.

Great road once you get beyond the four lane section coming out of Asheville.
Talk about tight turns going up to the Continental Divide at Hickory Nut Gap.
Switchbacks, tight twistys, some sweeping curves but take it easy, some turns double apex and get tighter at the end as you head into the Bat Cave area.
Heavier traffic through Chimney Rock and Lake Lure that like to tailgate.

You also cross the eastern continental divide.
