Rode from Morro Bay to Leggett 7/10 around 700 miles.
Getting through San Francisco was a bitch, but everything else was a dream.
Don't be in a hurry on this road.
The scenery is spectacular and the twisties will inspire you, but also wear you out.

Beautiful ride...great views around each bend in the road.
Must do it once in your life, especially on a motorcycle.

Travelled up from Santa Monica (only high point there was the Kings Head pub, worth a visit) to San Francisco.
Loved Morro Bay, the food was excellent on the seafront & the Hearst Estate, just up the road, is worth a visit, good value for money too.
Apart from that tho, very disappointing.
Big Sur was a big letdown & beware, while gas was $3.20 everywhere else approximately, @ Big Sur it was $5 a gallon.
Profiteering at its worst!
Even SR 1 wasn't as good as we had been led to believe, better coastal roads here in Wales!

A must while traveling South of San Luis Obispo on this run...stop at Jacko's Steak House in Nipomo.
Only one exit for Nipomo (South of Pismo Beach and North of Santa Maria...another town loaded with great steak houses!!
Tri Tip is the specialty)...take the Nipomo exit to the East (towards the hills) about 1/2 mile and Jacko's Steakhouse will be on the left hand side across from an old white church.

Great drive, lots of variety and views.
Just watch the white line in the Redwoods.
Trees 2" from the line, could ruin your day real quick.

Gorgeous ride along the coast.
Cliffs to the sea on one side and redwoods on the other.
A little bit cool though, due to the ocean breeze.
